A flow-through cell of -LSC has been prepared by packing PTFE tube into glass tube to combine microchip. Two-phase flow in microchannel has been stabilized by using coiled tube. The Pu in organic phase has been mixed with scintillation cocktail by T-junction connectors. The system separates and detects Pu by online with detection limit of 6.5 Bq/mL, generating only L-level wastes.

We implement C-14 monitoring of exhaust in such a way as to measure mono-ethanolamine which is a collector of CO with a liquid scintillation counter. Since Aquasol-2, which we have used so far was finished selling, we have done technical examinations on Insta-Gel plus and Ultima Gold for the alternative cocktail of Aquasol-2. In the result, as for the both cocktails, we confirmed that mono-ethanolamine can merge into the cocktails with some chemical additive, and detection limits of C-14 can comply the law limit of C-14 concentration of exhaust. However, chemical luminescence of Ultima Gold was so intense that it might affect the measurement in the case of measuring H-3 at the same time. Because of this, we chose Insta-Gel plus as the alternative cocktail.

Microchip is a glass plate that has a microchannel typically below 100 m. Various chemical process can be performed in flow by introducing sample solution through this microchannel. One of the application of microchip is solvent extraction. If microchip can be applied to Pu analysis, it is possible to reduce waste generation, radiation exposure of laboratory staff and simplify the analytical operation. In this study, we have developed an online alpha liquid scintillation measurement system coupled with microchip application to the separation field of analysis pretreatment. Quantitative analysis of plutonium has been performed by using the developed system. In the conference, we present these experimental results.
